Distance from the depot
Transport is costed per kilometre from the loading depot to your site. A site near a coastal or inland depot is cheaper to serve than a remote one, so your province and town matter.
Product specification
Diesel 10ppm, diesel 50ppm, petrol 93 and 95, paraffin and Jet A1 all price differently and are not always available from the same supplier or depot.
Frequency and contract term
A once-off load is quoted differently to a standing weekly or monthly offtake. Committed volume over a term generally earns better terms than ad-hoc buying.
Delivery and offloading
On-site storage capacity, tanker access, offloading windows and whether you can take a full load in one drop all affect the logistics portion of the cost.
Buyer status and payment terms
Licensed wholesalers, private buyers and end users are handled differently. Payment terms, credit checks and licence documentation all form part of the supplier's offer.
